Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using AMAL POS. They define your legal rights, software license, and business operational guidelines.

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to AMAL POS. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your download, access, and use of the AMAL POS mobile application, websites, and associated services (collectively, the “Service”), operated by AMAL (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of a company, store, or legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use or download the Service.

2. License & Intellectual Property

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, AMAL grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the AMAL POS mobile application on compatible iOS and Android devices owned or controlled by you solely for your internal business retail operations.

Restrictions

  • You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the app.
  • You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any portion of our software or algorithms.
  • You may not use our brand assets, trademarks, or logos without prior written authorization.
  • You may not utilize automated scripts or bots to access or disrupt the Service.

3. Offline-First Architecture & Merchant Data

AMAL POS is engineered with an offline-first architecture. Your catalog, inventory counts, barcode associations, customer records, and local sales logs are stored primarily in your device’s local storage.

Your Ownership of Business Data

You retain all rights, title, and interest in and to your inventory, product catalog, sales logs, and financial records. AMAL does not claim ownership or sell your business transaction records.

Backup Responsibility

Because data resides locally on your hardware, you are solely responsible for maintaining regular backups (via in-app backup export or cloud sync). AMAL is not liable for data loss arising from physical device damage, theft, or OS resets.

4. Subscriptions, In-App Purchases & Billing

AMAL POS offers free tiers as well as optional premium features (such as multi-device sync, extended analytics, and advanced CSV batch processing).

  • Payment Processing: All in-app subscriptions and digital purchases are billed and processed directly through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store according to their respective billing terms.
  • Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current billing cycle via your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.
  • Refunds: Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple or Google pursuant to their platform refund policies.
  • Price Adjustments: We reserve the right to revise subscription fees with advance notice before upcoming billing cycles.

5. User Conduct & Acceptable Use

You agree to use AMAL POS strictly for lawful business activities. You agree not to:

Use the POS app to catalogue, sell, or distribute illegal goods, illicit substances, or prohibited contraband under applicable local or international law.
Circumvent software licensing limits, hardware locks, or digital rights protections.
Attempt to compromise server endpoints, databases, or APIs associated with cloud synchronization.
Transmit malware, viruses, or destructive scripts through bulk CSV imports or product barcode inputs.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

While we strive for 100% precision in barcode scanning, calculations, and receipt generation, AMAL does not guarantee that the software will be uninterrupted, bug-free, or compatible with every thermal printer model or peripheral. In no event shall AMAL, its founders, or affiliates be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, or retail sales data.

7. Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms periodically to reflect product updates, regulatory requirements, or security changes. When modifications are made, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, deliver in-app notifications. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your binding acceptance.
