01

Download & Launch AMAL POS

Install AMAL POS from the App Store or Google Play Store. When prompted, grant Camera permission to enable the computer-vision barcode decoding engine.

02

Access the Quick Scanner from Register or Catalog

From the main register screen, tap the prominent barcode scanner icon or swipe left to open the real-time camera viewfinder.

03

Position the Barcode Inside the Viewfinder

Point your phone camera toward any standard product barcode (UPC-A, EAN-13, Code 128, or QR). Keep the device approximately 4 to 8 inches (10-20 cm) away from the package. You do not need to press a shutter button; detection happens automatically in under 100 milliseconds.

04

Use Continuous Rapid Scanning for Multi-Item Orders

For retail checkout lines with multiple items, keep the scanner active. Scan consecutive products back-to-back. AMAL POS will sound a clear audio confirmation beep and increment item quantities automatically in the active cart.

Pro Tips for Cashier Checkout Speed

Good Lighting & Flashlight Toggle

In dimly lit kiosks or night markets, tap the built-in flashlight toggle directly on the AMAL scanner screen to illuminate barcodes instantly.

Hold Steady at 15cm Distance

Avoid holding the phone too close to small barcodes. Give your camera optical autofocus room to resolve individual black and white bars.

Crinkled Plastic Wrappers

For shrink-wrapped snacks or curved bottles, smooth out the barcode surface slightly with your thumb to eliminate light reflections.

Audio & Haptic Confirmations

Keep sound and vibrations enabled so cashiers can scan by ear without constantly looking down at the screen.
